2742 Aung Thiha1, Myat Su Hlaing2, Soe Mya Mya Aye3 ANALYSIS OF IMAGE ENHANCEMENT ON MEDICAL ENDOSCOPIC IMAGE* In clinical surgery, the quality of endoscopic image is degraded by noise. Bloods, illumination changes, specular reflection and other factors contributes to noise affect doctor’s judgement, and cause high operation risk. In this research, degraded image is restored by using linear and non linear methods to make better enhancement. For noise removal, arithmetic mean, harmonic mean, contraharmonic mean and median filters are used. Unsharp masking filter is used to make sharping image. Gamma correction method is used for color enhancement and tone-mapping. The simulation programs are written using MATLAB. Both linear and non-linear filters are analyzed for specific image processing. The results of these two classes of filter are compared by Image Quality Assessment (IQA). This research assists the physicians to determine the diseases by applying linear and non-linear filter over the endoscopic image that have degraded factors. 2025

2744 Thin Ei Zar1, Khin Sandar Myint2, Soe Mya Mya Aye3 ACCURACY ANALYSIS OF BMI PREDICTION USING REGRESSION ALGORITHMS This study conducts an accuracy analysis of BMI prediction using regression algorithms, specifically decision tree and random forest regression. A dataset used in this paper was collected from the Kaggle data repository site. The dataset is split into training and testing sets to predict BMI, BMR and calories needed to maintain weight based on gender, age, weight, height, and activity level using decision tree and random forest regression algorithms. The performance accuracy of the proposed algorithms is evaluated using Root Mean Squared Error, Mean Absolute Error, R-squared, Mean Absolute Percentage Error and accuracy. The goal and content of this research are to study the prediction accuracy of decision tree and random forest regression machine learning algorithms in prediction. Analyzing BMI will be specifically focused on suggesting the daily calories to maintain weight to the user to get a healthy life that leads to a happy life. 2025
2745 Ya Min Thu Yein1, Khin Mi Mi2, Tha Zin Hlaing3 EFFICACY OF DIFFERENT TRAP TYPES TO CONTROL BANANA ROOT WEEVIL COSMOPOLITES SORDIDUS (GERMER, 1823)* The banana weevil (Cosmopolites sordidus) is an important pest for banana growers. The objective of this study was to evaluate the most effectiveness of different trapping methods to control C. sordidus in Aithonesint village, Taungoo Township, Bago Region. A field trial comparing four treatments (T1: Pseudostem trap, T2: Pitfall trap, T3: Pheromone trap, and T4: Control) was conducted using a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) over four months (October 2023 to April 2024). A total of 576 traps (144 traps per treatment) were distributed across the study site (one acre farm). The data of monthly averages of weevils captured by trap were recorded. The averages of the treatments were compared by the Tukey's Studentized rang (HSD) test at 5% significant level. A total of 1,412 adult weevils were captured. The results showed that the Pheromone trap (T3) was significantly superior to all other traps, attracting the highest number of adults (n=611, or 43.27% of the total catch). Conversely, the Pseudostem trap (T1) was the most attractive to larvae, capturing n=415 (or 88.87% of the total larvae). No significant correlation was found between the captured adult population and weather parameters (average temperature and relative humidity). In conclusion, the study recommends the use of Pheromone traps for monitoring and mass trapping of C. sordidus adults and Pseudostem traps for monitoring larval populations in the Taungoo area. 2025
2746 Aye Chan Thu1, Hla Htet Soe2, Aye Aye Khine3, Kay Lwin Tun 4 MOLECULAR DETECTION OF MULTIPLE DRUG RESISTANT KLEBSIELLA SPECIES FROM URBAN RUNOFF* Wastewaters from community drainages may be reservoirs for various bacterial strains harboring drug-resistant genes associated among healthcare and community. Among pathogenic bacteria, Klebsiella is an important human pathogen causing opportunistic nosocomial and community acquired infections. In the present study, Klebsiella pneumoniae was recorded with the confirmation of phenotypic and molecular analyses. The 16s rRNA gene of the selected isolate (MHBD 10-2(3)), collected from community drainage, Latha Township, was successfully amplified using PCR resulting in a sequence length of 996bp and comprehensive identification results using the phylogenetic analysis involved a comparison of the isolate’s sequence with others obtained from GeneBank database. The studied isolate revealed a close clustering with Klebsiella pneumoniae species, supported by 100% nucleotide identities. This study may highlight a rapid and cost-effective diagnostic tool for detection of antibiotic-resistant pathogenic bacteria in the natural environment. 2025
2747 Hnin Thandar Tun 1, Myint Sandar Win2 EFFECT OF FEED TYPES ON GROWTH PARAMETERS AND HATCHING RATE IN NATIVE CHICKEN, GALLUS GALLUS DOMESTICUS (LINNAEUS, 1758)* The demand for chicken's meat and eggs has increased substantially due to its good quality and nutritive values. The low productivity of native chicken is primarily attributed to low genetic potential, poor nutrition and disease control. Nutrition is a major influence on growth rate and egg production for breeding. This study aimed to identify the low-cost chicken feed with high profit that can yield favorable growth parameters and hatching rates for the farmers in the rural areas. The study was carried out from December 2023 to September 2024 in Bagan Village, Waw Township, Bago Region. A total of 27 (3-month-old) native chickens with initial weight of 540.00 ± 11.06g were randomly selected for three treatments. One male and eight females (1:8) were reared in each poultry house. The treatments were denoted as the birds fed commercial diet (T1), commercial diet substituted by 50% of locally available ingredients – broken rice, rice bran, snail shell powder and shrimp meal powder (T2) and a formulated diet including maize, broken rice, rice bran, snail shell powder and shrimp meal powder (T3), respectively. Throughout the grower stage, the growth parameters (body weight and weight gain) of all treatments were not significantly different from each other. The results of feed intake and FCR were influenced by feed types among three groups. The result also showed that the fertility rate of the native chickens fed three different diets was similar although there were significant differences in the laying and hatching rate of the eggs. In terms of net return and hatching performance, the native hens fed T2 diet exhibited the highest profit and those fed T1 diet obtained the highest proportion of hatched chicks (62%). This study concludes that the T2 diet is the most viable option for rural farmers, as it effectively reduces feed costs while maintaining growth performance and providing a high profit margin. 2025
2748 Kyawt Kay Khaing1, Aye Aye Aung2 LANDMARK-BASED MORPHOMETRIC ANALYSIS ON BODY SHAPE OF SOME FISH SPECIES IN THAUNG PYIN “IN”, THEGON TOWNSHIP, BAGO REGION The present research focused to examine landmark-based morphometric variations of Notopterus notopterus, Macrognathus zebrinus, Anabas testudineus and Trichogaster pectoralis from Thaung Pyin “In”, Thegon Township, Bago Region. A total four of 20 specimens of each species were collected from the study area. The 10 morphological landmarks were selected along the outline of the specimens. The number of landmarks based on the respective species and the truss network were also changed on morphology. In the present study 8 to 10 points in landmark and 16 to 21 trust networks were recorded. Multivariate analysis of variance (ANOVA) was carried out to test the significance of morphological differences among the study species. The principal component analysis (PCA) indicated shape variation and explained the total variance (66.03%, 79.44%, 64.78% and 69.66 %) of N. notopterus, M. zebrinus, A. testudineus and T. pectoralis respectively. Discriminant function analysis (DFA) was accounted for three morphological indices in M. zebrinus , four morphological indices in N. notopterus and A. testudineus, and six morphological indices in T. pectoralis of the within group variability. Individuals into their original group were correctly classified and the result showed 100% in N. notopterus, M. zebrinus and T. pectoralis and 95% in A. testudineus. 2749 Soe Myint Khine1, Cho Cho Thin2, Kay Lwin Tun3 ANALYSIS OF HEAVY METAL IN SOME FISH SPECIES FROM RICE FISH FARM OF WEST TARPET VILLAGE, MAUBIN TOWNSHIP, AYEYARWADY REGION Rice-fish systems can be broadly defined as the cultivation of rice alongside the simultaneous or rotational presence of naturally occurring fish and other aquatic species that are harvested through fisheries, as well as introduced fish populations that are cultured. Fish species are vital for maintaining ecological health and are also economically important for human consumption. In this study, the seasonal variation of heavy metal concentrations (As , Cd and Pb) which bio accumulated in muscle tissues of three fish species (Catla catla, Labeo rohita, Puntius gonionotous) cultured in the rice-fish farm located at West Tarpet Village, Maubin Township were analyzed. Seasonal variation of metal concentrations in water and soil from rice- fish farm were also investigated during the study period. The concentrations of heavy metals in collected specimens were analyzed in the Universities’ Research Center (URC) at University of Yangon. The levels of metal concentrations varied depending on the seasons and the different fish species. The highest concentration of As was found in Catla catla in the cold season and Cd in Puntius gonionotus in the hot season but the results did not exceed the WHO/FAO maximum permissible limits. Pb concentration of Catla catla in the rainy season was found to be the highest and over- established by WHO/FAO. The Cd and Pb concentrations of river water were highest in the hot season and in the rainy season; the results were higher than WHO/FAO. The average concentration of Pb in the rainy season of soil sample was the highest and observed to be beyond the WHO/ FAO limit. Based on the results of the present study, the concentration levels of Pb in soil, water samples and, Catla catla, as well as Cd in river water exceeded the acceptable limits recommended by WHO/FAO. Significant relations between As and Cd concentrations in the muscle tissue of the fish species and their size (total length) and (body weight) were observed. According to the results of the transfer factor, all tested metals accumulated in muscle tissues of studied fish species came from their abiotic media. The concentration of heavy metals in muscle tissues of Labeo rohita and Puntius gonionotus were not exceed the permissible limit of WHO/FAO, 2011 and there was no a risk for the public by eating these species. 2025
2750 Eaint Hmue Kyaw1, Kyaw Htet Kaung2 and Khaing Thazin Win3 BREEDING SUCCESS AND EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT DIETS ON THE GROWTH OF SIAMESE FIGHTING FISH, BETTA SPLENDENS REGAN, 1910 This study investigated the reproductive performance and subsequent growth rates of the Siamese fighting fish (Betta splendens). The breeding experiment compared the effects of two water types (tap water and 40% almond leaf extract water) and three nesting materials (Regiform , Plastic, and Banana leaf) on hatching and survival rates. Statistical analysis showed that the highest hatching rate (70.00%) occurred in tap water with a Plastic nest, while the highest survival rate (53.85%) was achieved in almond extract water with a Plastic nest, indicating the benefit of almond extract for fry survival. Additionally, a four-month growth trial was conducted on B. splendens fingerlings using five different diets: Daphnia (Diet I), Mosquito larvae (Diet II), Pellet feed (Diet III), Mixed feed (Diet IV), and Artemia cysts (Diet V). ANOVA results revealed that live and mixed feed sources—Mosquito larvae (83.72% weight gain), Mixed feed (80.49%), and Daphnia (74.42%)—resulted in significantly higher mean body weights compared to Artemia (P-values < 0.05). Conversely, Artemia showed the highest survival rate (100%), despite the lowest weight gain (41.46%). The findings offer valuable insights for optimizing breeding and feeding protocols in ornamental fish aquaculture. 2025
