Abstract
  • Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) offers a framework for sustainable agriculture, focusing on food safety, environmental preservation, and economic sustainability. The Department of Rural Development in Myanmar has provided vocational training on GAP, which includes farming techniques aimed at improving agricultural productivity and sustainability. This study aims to understand the relationship between the characteristics of trainees and the training’s outcomes. Primary data were collected through a survey of 192 trainees who participated in the GAP training between 2018-2019 and 2022-2023. Data were collected through structured questionnaires using a five-point Likert scales. Statistical analysis, including t-tests and ANOVA, was applied to determine the relationship between participant characteristics and training effectiveness. The study finds that there is a relationship between gender, age, experience and training effectiveness. However, there is no relationship between education level and training effectiveness. The study recommends that government agencies promote and support GAP training by providing targeted funding, resources, and policy frameworks that encourage inclusivity and accessibility, are actively engaged and benefit from the trainings to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability.
