DEVELOPING A COMPUTER ADAPTIVE TEST FOR CIVIC EDUCATION

Abstract
  • The main purpose of this study was to develop a Computer Adaptive Test for Civic Education. To achieve the purpose of the study, four test forms of a basic knowledge test for civic education were first constructed according to the table of specifications. The basic knowledge test for civic education is composed of environmental sustainability, intercultural communication, human rights education, civil rights and duties of citizens. Each test contained 40 multiplechoice items. The sample was randomly selected from five divisions and two states of Myanmar by using Quantitative Survey Research design. The sample size of totally 1176 students from ten Education Colleges in Myanmar participated in this study. According to the results, it can be concluded that the tests were neither too easy nor too difficult for students with different abilities. IRT Rasch Model was used to analyze the data with RStudio. For computer adaptive test, catR software package was used. To create an online computer adaptive test, Google Forms application was applied and the QR code was used to send the test online.
